Susan M. Miller, Executive Director Susan Miller

Susan was appointed Executive Director of the Center For Dialogue on September 24, 2007 replacing Huldah Warren. Susan moved to Brevard in May 2007 after retiring from public services and last serving as City Manager for the City of Ocala, Florida. She has extensive non-profit experience having served on Community Boards for United Way, Historical Preservation of Ocala, West Ocala Governor’s Revitalization Council, Humane Society of Marion County as well as business organizations including Ocala- Marion Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council. She has also served as Executive Director for two Humane Societies in Florida. Susan holds a BS Degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of West Florida. She and her husband Larry have two grown children, Heide and David, and two grandchildren, Ashlynn and Carrie.

 

Michael Abraham, Director of Mediation ServicesMichael Abraham

Michael joined the Center for Dialogue on November 12, 2007, coming to us with over twenty years of experience in dispute resolution. His experience includes handling cases involving small businesses, family issues, probate, real estate, construction, contract disputes, civil disputes, and employer/employee issues. He is certified as a mediator by the South Carolina Bar and the State of Kentucky and expects to be certified by the State of North Carolina. He operates on the belief that “Communication is important; both sides need to be able to air their grievances. With persistence, I work to uncover each client’s true needs in order to achieve an equitable conclusion.” Michael graduated from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York with a BS Degree in Police Science/Criminal Justice. In addition to his mediation experience he also served the City of Greenville, South Carolina as a Magistrate and Administrative Judge.

 

Lorena "Ren" Uriarte, Youth Services Director Ren Uriarte

Ren joined the Center for Dialogue on March 17, 2008 as Youth Services Director replacing Katie Vogler. Ren has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She has extensive experience working with youth in after school programs and sports. She worked with STARS in Los Angeles, California as a special events coordinator producing financially successful fund raising events and has designed marketing flyers and brochures working with the STARS Publishing Department. She coaches girls volley ball with the Transylvania County Schools.
